About Us
Eric Stowe likes to joke that along with a wife, Pam, he obtained a black cat, a sheltie dog, and 2 Arabian horses! That was over 25 years ago.
Pam's parents, Jim and Wilma Wilkins, were the first Arabian horse owner in Clark County, Springfield, Ohio, when in 1956 they obtained their first mare, Khala Zhar (# 9774) from Roy Dean in New Jersey. Khala Zhar (Narzad x Khymae) became their foundation mare, producing many champions including Khazol (# 15928) by Idol. Khazol, trained by Victor Kerr, went on to many championships with Doug Wilkins.
Pam and Doug showed their parent's horses until Jim's death in 1974. In time, most of the herd was dispersed except for two young foals retained by Pam. These two young horses followed Pam and Eric into their married life. Life changes, job changes, and a
move forced Pam and Eric to sell the remaining bloodline of Jim and Wilma Wilkins.
They began a family and Pam became intent to have horses a part of their lives again. A Gai-Adventure daughter along with a Scottsdale-on-Fire daughter joined the family. Daughter, Mary, was ready for 4-H and Gaineyna (# 111443) took her to top honors. A
crippling ringbone disease pushed Neyna into retirement while O-So Angelfire was in foal to an Ibn Raseyn son, Cyn Raseyn (# 51663). Marakkla, a marvelous bay gelding by Gesakkla (# 10832) came into Mary's life and the sky was the limit for the two of
them. O-So Angelfire produced a grey filly, Seyna Angel, who is now part of our broodmare band.
Mary went on to become an apprentice at Al-Marah Arabians where under the tutelage of Gary Ferguson, she learned how to train and ride reiners. A new love was born in her! It was during this time that we began to obtain wonderful mares from Al-Marah and grow our herd. It is our goal to breed for quiet, loving dispositions along with great bone and bodies and, of course, beautiful heads.
Under the guidance of Bazy Tankersley and Al-Marah Arabians, bloodlines so important to Pam's parents were now becoming an important part in the life of Stowe Arabians. Mares - AM Mildly Zippy (x Garcon), AM Daphne Ho (x Fond Friar), AM Dynamic Dome (x Double Dream) and AM Happy Heyday (x Garcon), and Seyna Angel are being bred to such great stallions as AM Michael
Love, AM Clem Dreamon, Al-Marah Horatio, and AM Power Raid.
That's how we got here . . .
